We (myself included) often complain about ESPN's apparent SEC bias so time to give credit when credit is due.

There are plausible arguments for Bama at Mizzou, the Red River shootout, or UGA at Auburn but GameDay will be in Eugene on Saturday for Indiana at Oregon.

Florida State.

Outside of what now looks to be a fluke win against Bama, what have they done?

Who cares what the actual number is, it was just a dumb idea in general.  Just a few weeks ago USF beat Florida in Gainesville.

They took a bus and the crowd wasn't amped.  And other excuses.  :72:

Texas being favored by 2.5 points on a neutral site over Oklahoma is wild to me. get that John Mateer is probably out- but Arch and that Texas OL struggled mightily vs a very capable and talented Florida defensive front. Florida's defense is really good. But it's not the elite cream of the crop. Oklahoma's defense is just that. Oklahoma's defense is maybe the best in the country. Rivalry game and all- throw out the records and stats....but have a feeling OU's defensive front is going to feast.

yup, throw out all the records and rankings in the big rivalry games.

that line probably looks different if Mateer is healthy.

For sure.

Right now Texas doesn't do anything well.  Or really even average.  Even with OU's backup QB it's hard for me to see a path to victory for Texas.

But, worse Texas teams have beaten better OU teams in the past, and vice versa.

OU's OL is still pretty mediocre- and they struggle to run the ball with their RB's. The Cal transfer who was the #3 rated RB in the porthole that everyone just assumed would be a stud Jaydn Ott has barely played and when he has he hasn't done much. Mateer was a huge part of their run game. Their backup QB Hawkins is pretty awful imo.

On paper this should be a classic defensive battle, low scoring 13-10 type game or something. Team that can take care of the football, run the ball efficiently, and play rock solid special teams will win. OU's special teams have been pretty iffy and they don't run the ball nearly as well without Mateer.

There is also an urgency/desperation factor. Texas is a bit of a wounded animal right now- they need a win here a lot more and Sark might be coaching for his job a little bit- a big win here would help salvage things and keep the season from spiraling down the drain.
