Nah. He's just a good coach.

He's a good G5 coach.

Jury is still out on his P5 coaching prowess. So far his greatest accomplishment at that level was beating Wisconsin in 2011.

I pondered the significance of the Vols' loss at UF.  It suggests UF of course isn't completely lame, and the Vols are not completely great.  As the Vols have to visit Bama, it probably means they do no better than 6-2 in conference play.  UGA's major challenge is a game in Knoxville.  Presuming they can handle UF and etc., it suggests a more clear path to the CG even with that loss.

The Dawgs seem not to show up in the first half on offense, at all.  That won't work well down  the road.  They have one more home pastry next week.  Too many trips to the bakery I think.
I was very busy this weekend so I only saw bits and pieces of a few games but I saw enough of the UGA game to not get excited about their "close call" with USCe.

I tuned in when it was 10-3 USCe and did so specifically because a top team was down so I wanted to see what was up. I watched what seemed like half a dozen plays and UGA was up 17-10.

Playing lackluster enough to get down 10-3 to that opponent is concerning in theory but I think I saw the "real" UGA when they just took over and thoroughly dominated on their way, QUICKLY, from 3-10 to 17-10.

Alabama needs to go back to Milroe, he might not be a great passer but he can at least make plays with his feet.  The other schlubs they have at QB can't even do that, plus they're crappy passers.

yeah agree 100%. Bama OL is traaaaash. Milroe can at least make something happen with his feet and escape and rip off a 50 yard run when he gets pressured. Buchner was pretty bad at ND, didn't know why anyone thought he'd magically be good at Bama.

It was 14-3 at the half, to be precise.  UGA scored 21 unanswered in the second.  Their issue has been scoring early (not) in all three games.

Incidentally, "Dawg fans" are panicking and most want the backup QB and to fire the OC.  Who could have predicted that?

The average fan on FB or wherever is not like most folks here, thankfully.

Did not catch Oklahoma State getting completely ass beat by South Alabama
Just found out that former UT quarterback and fan favorite Major Applewhite is the OC at South Alabama.  That explains it. :)

I guess Graham Mertz doesn't suck after all. Huge indictment of the prior Wisconsin staff here.

He looks light on his feet and knows where to go with the ball.  He'll throw it away if nothing is there.  He takes a few too many sacks, but we don't have a bunch of dudes running open all the time, either.
He's had a couple of great throws, too.

He just seems comfortable.
