I glanced at the top 25 just now, I think the only competitive matchup us Tenn at Florida (7 points) mat 7 PM.  It's weird that game isn't more "relevant" and not a 3:30 PM game.  Has the 7 PM game time become more the time of choice?

I think that game will reveal something about both squads, and coaches.

KState at Mizzou has a 3.5 line I notice, don't usually think of either as being ranked.

ION, the rock festival has already kicked off.  The base really carries.  It gets annoying.

My wife is taking the kids to a shrimp festival. In Ohio. Hmm...

I do have some ribs to smoke and Kroger had some wings on sale so I got some to throw on there too. I've never smoked wings that I remember, feel like just letting them go until done, then air frying them later is the way to go.

Quick win in vball today.   Still need better energy.   I've got ten introverts somehow.

UF v UT most interesting game to me today.

it's in the swamp and this almost feels like a gotta have it game for Napier and Florida, which is the only reason I think they have a shot to keep it close. Also, I've seen Joe Milton first hand. He's a physical specimen, but he's not good at the whole QB thing. He could throw one or two right to the Gators and help keep them in the game.

In competitive games that are not "gotta have", do they put less into winning them?

It's "gotta have" for the Vols as well, I think, though not so much for the coach.  They still play @ Bama, UGA, @UK, and A&M.  They at least aspire to win the East, and probability goes way down with a loss today.

it's not gotta have it for the Vols imo. they are still on that high of that great season last year and Heupel is the toast of the town in Knoxville. they can drop this one and it won't be sky is falling. the pressure isn't on them or that coach nearly as much as it is on Florida.

feels like Florida almost has to win this one or that thing is probably going to tail spin nose dive crash into the ocean and sink down deep into the abyss and Napier's ass is going to be flaming hot sitting on a seat that is on fire.

If the Vols lose, I think their aspirations collapse with it.  They don't want 9-4 any more.  I view it as "gotta have" for both teams.

Napier needs it more than Heupel for job security, but I don't see how that factors into the outcome.

Doing the crock ribs from Test Kitchen recipe - only thing I do different is slather on plain yellow mustard on the meaty side like utee 94 suggested - it holds the rub 😍. It actually makes a bit of a bark and steams/roasts at the same time. At about 2/3 of the way thru I use a baster to pull out some of the juices that have rendered out to crisp it up. So easy a Caveman or I can do it. Of course eating it over the sink proper with the game on the radio and chase it down with an Oktoberfest

Soooo.....losing to two top 15 teams puts Florida into a malstrom??  As an unranked team?  They just happen to be 2 of the first 3 games.

Florida needs to beat the unranked teams on its schedule and possibly steal 1 from the bunch of other ranked teams on it's schedule.

Saying beating Tennessee is a must is like going for 2 in the second quarter.  No.  The time to panic is when it's time to panic.  Game 3 is too early for must wins in general.

I think both teams need a W, as noted.  Huepel is not in any danger if he loses, Napier is not in much MORE danger if he loses.  Napier's job I think will be more about how Florida finishes, and I nearly always think the HC should get 3 years minimum.  Florida has some reasonably winnable games coming up,

Charlotte
@ UK (maybe 50-50)
Vandy
@ USCe *50-50ish)
UGA
Arky (50-50isuh or better)
LSU  some shot
@Mizzou
FSU

That isn't a great schedule for a program struggling to regain their status and composure.  If they beat UK and Vandy they are 4-2 if they lose tonight.    Beat Arky and Mizzou and 6-6 looks possible, and a bowl game somewhere.  I think a lot depends on how they LOOK playing teams lke FSU even if they lose.
