I didn't think the Utes had a shot at the 4-team playoff

Wow. I thought UF was in trouble. INT in the EZ seals the game.

It’s moot now but the Utah timeout situation was strange.  I didn’t fully understand why they got a timeout back because a kid’s helmet came off.  Helmets come off all the time.  It doesn’t stop the clock.

Thus ends week 1’s most entertaining game (save for earlier in Boone NC):

Glad to see you so happy.  I will note I picked Florida in our Pick Em.

The opponent can be a factor.
Yes, obviously. But that D looked way better than I thought it would this early. Despite the competition. I’ve seen too many Michigan defenses make crap competition look good early on. Look at the M offense v the M D that game. Cade McNamara played like dog shit and that passing game got nothing going vs same tomato can that the D feasted on.

Those guys were locked in, played incredible assignment football, didn’t miss tackles, didn’t half ass anything. They knew what to do in every situation. I think returning everyone in the two deep except for 4 guys and having another year in the system really showed. As good as Michigan was last year on D (except for that UGA game and 4th QTR vs MSU that is) - that was year 1 in this system- and it was a drastically different front and system than Don Brown. One really smart thing Harbaugh did in replacing MacDonald was to get another guy from the Ravens to run that same Ravens 3-4 style defensive system MacDonald installed last year.
