I'm not saying run 3 dive plays and punt.....simply don't pass EVERY time.  Especaily when your QB is treating every pass as a 50/50 back-shoulder throw.  If O'Connell is planning on playing that way all season, he'll toss 15+ INTs.

Purdue didn't make PSU use any timeouts for a drive and a half while holding the lead late and possessing the ball.
That’s true. I feel like a 35–65 balance with the majority being that kind of aggressive would have been better advised than the 0–100 we got

We're watching PSU Purdue here. It's more interesting than the game here.

Someone explain to me why Purdue didn't run a draw play just to force a timeout.
I think you were referring to the same play I was referring to here:
It seemed crazy to me for Purdue to pass on 3rd and 30. You aren't picking up the 1st down anyway so, IMHO, you need to run there to at least cost PSU a timeout.
I absolutely get not running three dive plays and punting but on 3rd and 30 you aren't getting the first down anyway so at least force PSU to burn a timeout.

This is pretty much where I am.

I'll add that Purdue doesn't have the horses to have a realistic shot at picking up a first down on three straight off-tackle or dive plays against a Penn State defense expecting it so I understand not running much but I think you have to mix it in.

Also, they threw a lot of low percentage passes. Throwing short high percentage screens or crossing routes would at least usually keep the clock running.

Finally, some of this is on either O'Connell or his coaches. In that situation if nobody is open it would be a LOT better to scramble for a few yards or even take a sack close to the LOS than to just wing it and pray.

From a quick glance, Illinois looks like UTEP.

Serena's opponent is sponsored by FICO?  Clearly an Aussie corporation.

Former UW tailback Jalen Burger throws up 120 as MSU puts WMU out of reach.

Talent was never an issue for the kid. Looks like the situation in Madison was a wakeup call.

I don't mind the helmet switch, but the orange numbers with no outline looks broke as hell.  And no matter how you dress them up, Bert looks to be on deaths doorstep

Particularly against Indiana's best look they've ever cobbled together.  Their best retro jersey combined with the best current helmet.  Chef's kiss.

And couldn't be less similar to Walker.  Walker looked.like LeVeon Bell 2.0, but better at this level, as far as ability to hesitate and find holes.  Bell perfected it once he got to the NFL.

Berger is one cut and go.  Both of them are covering up continued massive issues on the OL.
