"In other news, jersey patches have officially arrived in Baton Rouge, joining NIL collectives, transfer portals, and revenue sharing as part of college athletics’ new reality. LSU Athletics announced a precedent-setting, multi-year partnership with Woodside Energy that will place the Woodside logo on competition apparel for all 21 LSU varsity sports beginning with the 2026–27 season. The patch will be uniquely designed to blend into LSU’s traditional purple and gold rather than stand out like a billboard.

The agreement goes beyond the uniforms. Woodside will also serve as an official community partner of LSU Athletics, with plans for community programs across Louisiana, along with prominent signage at athletic venues and marketing assets across LSU sports platforms."

I'm so thrilled.

Our starting QB in five years, probably.

On the plus side, M&M's and Snickers are delicious, and I've had good luck with Rheem water heaters, so I can't complain about the specific products.

The NIU head football coach announced today he is leaving to take an assistant coaching job in the NFL.  I have a hunch he knew NIU was going to suck in their first year in the MWC.  Decided to bail before it got really bad.

New Balance overtakes Nike

New Balance marked its fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth worldwide.

The private shoe and apparel powerhouse said on Thursday that annual global sales for 2025 achieved $9.2 billion, or a 19 percent rise from 2024 levels.

“Our footwear and apparel products continued to deliver across lifestyle and performance,” said New Balance Athletics Inc. president and CEO Joe Preston in a business update.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Merrimack College and an MBA from Babson Graduate School of Business.

I prefer New Balance runners over every other brand, and I've tried them all.

There's something about New Balance being the stereotypical "dad shoe" but I don't follow current pop culture closely enough to know much about that.

I also only wear my running shoes whilst running/exercising and not socially so maybe I'm exempt?
