On the other hand, maybe they’ll decide they’re getting exactly what they paid for. Take Texas Tech for example. In 30 years of play, they never won the Big 12 until last year. They came close once or twice, with a legendary coach and a bunch of scrappy players. Suddenly, not only do they make the CFP, they win the Big 12.
Ole Miss, INDIANA! ,A&M, Oregon. All traditional non-powers. I’ve heard that top NIL deals run around 20-30 million per team.
To run a 30 million dollar NIL program you need about 100 wealthy alumni to pony up $300,000 each. Now maybe I’m over estimating how much rich alumni any given school has, but you can do the math. Say you have a couple billionaires, each ponies up $5 million. Now you split the money between 100 rich guys at $20 MM.
It really doesn’t matter, some of these guys are multi-billionaires. They can pay out 1-5 million like you and I pony up $1,000 or even 100.
