Texas A&M gave him that Trans Am.

SMU gave him a shitload more in cash.

So he took that Trans Am to SMU with him after he decomitted from the Ags.

You to broke to pay attention?
It seems like some big name was mentioned but to be honest I don’t know that much about the Hoosiers. I know big names have been mentioned about Michigan and some others. Larry Ellison seems to be one for Michigan.

Ah, now I do remember that.  For some reason, I associated him with Texas happenings, it never occurred to me that he was in fact an IU alum.

I thought he was from Cuba and always wondered why he was so into buying Texas sports franchises.

You guys see what the ACC is doing next year?!?  Some teams have a 9-game conf schedule and others have 8.  But it's the ACC, so no one gives a shit.

Imagine the Big Ten or SEC doing that?!?

It's been well over 100 years since the B1G had unbalanced schedules in the early 1900's.

SEC unbalance is much more recent. They seemed to have a very loose scheduling agreement in the past.

The Big Ten did that in 1981 and 1982.

Everybody played 9 games except for Iowa and Ohio St.  Of course Iowa and Ohio St tied for first with 6-2 records and Iowa and Ohio St did not play each other.  Iowa ended up going to the Rose Bowl because the 3rd tiebreaker was who had gone the longest since their last Rose Bowl.

In 1983 and 1984 the Big Ten went with a full round robin 9-game schedule.  Illinois went 9-0 in 1983 and is the only team in Big Ten history to beat every team in the conference.

In 1985 the Big Ten went back to 8 games,  which lasted until 2016, when the Big Ten started playing 9 games.
We are all equal but some are more equal than others.

Is it the five who play ND that are playing 8 game ACC schedules?

maybe that's my faint memory, cause the Huskers played Hayden's Hawks in 81 & 82.
Hawks went to the Rose bowl in 81.

I'm gifting my son-in-law a Hawkeye Rose Bowl bottle of Coke from 1981 this Christmas
