Tulane was LSU before LSU was LSU.

Ya these guys aren't offering up this deal because it's bad for them. This hamstrings the decision process moving forward if they own part of your brand. As a few posters remarked in the comment section:

"And it’s hilarious how they are trying to limit decision-making to university presidents - the ones that likely are the least sophisticated in high finance. Why not loop in successful business savvy trustees?"

"Why would you let the decision of a few people that will only be there for a short time affect forever? By selling part of the football team, you lose that money from years 10/15 range to eternity. PE WANTS THIS CAUSE ITS A GOOD DEAL FOR THEM!"

This is absolutely accurate, too many empty suits up top that don't care about a budget just that they have a big slice of it.Not all obviously but many

You better believe the suits at the universities will cut off a fat slice of that pie for their own bank accounts.

Pretty sure a decision like this at Texas would be required to go through the Board, it wouldn't just be up to the chancellor or the school president.

That's true but this deal here just drips of manipulation.Took to long to build these brands now they're going to let the same slime balls that brought us time shares get their foot in the door - No Thanx

Ohio State was initially against this deal, seems like they were persuaded to change....very surprising.
