kudos on the prophecy. 

I still feel like the only way to get the genie somewhat back into the bottle is for P4 + ND to breakaway from the NCAA for football, have the players sign employment contracts, unionize and strike a CBA with this new P4 + ND breakaway. 

I really don't see any other way to at least somewhat fix what has become a completely broken sport.

Look good sir, I've been saying that for months.  Ever since it was announced there would be a committee to "regulate" NIL deals, but without any participation in collective bargaining.  I'm sure we can look back over this thread and find numerous examples of such comments.

Besides, utee94 has been commenting presciently on this matter for several years now.  In fact, I joined this board in 2006 and I recall 847 and utee94 saying stuff about the future of cfb that I thought was either silly or far-fetched enough that no one could possibly know that for sure.  And over 19 years I've watched as they turned out to be friggin' Nostradamus.

Well the tweet says they recently cut 12 athletics department jobs.

I'm pretty sure Texas has added 12 athletics jobs, just in the last 3 or 4 hours...

I can't imagine that... I would find it hard to believe that the university itself is doing poorly. I think their endowment is >$8B. And their tuition is NOT cheap lol...

The reason I ask is because usually the AD budget is only $100-200 million total (maybe much lower, I would have to look it up) for all sports.  I find it hard to believe that the AD by itself would be 2x their Operating Budget.
