We keep talking about CFB losing interest with the audience, but isn’t the reverse true?  It’s more popular than ever.

I expect what will occur is that "de-alignment" will be CFB de-aligning about 90-100 of FBS schools straight out of the "championship" tier/league.

You'll have a 30-40 team league that is comprised of Stewart Mandel's Kings, Barons, and maybe a couple of the most popular Knights

Everyone else will be shut out in the cold.

With no peasants, who are the Kings and Queens to rule over?

Pretty sure they'll get used to having parity and not beating up on the Little Sisters of the Poor to the tune of 8-9 wins per year.

And if they don't, by no longer sharing the $$$ with the Little Sisters of the Poor, at least they can dry their tears on those fat stacks of Benjamins that they'll be sitting on.

Yep, going 9-3 (.750 win %) will be considered elite, just like the NFL.  With the differences between college and pro dwindling, who will want to watch college anymore?

It's basically the worst-possible long-term plan ever.

this might guarantee the undefeated 95 huskers remain the greatest team in history
I'm ok with that, I was at that Fiesta bowl party

Idk, most people seem to think some of these recent 15-0 teams might be the best.....

Most people?  Not sure I'm buying that.

The 1995 Huskers are the best team I've ever watched play the game.

Bwahahahah!

No, ESPN might have believed they were good enough to beat the combined armies of Napoleon, Genghis Khan, and Alexander the Great, but they were still no match for the 1995 Huskers!

Probably 2001 Miami. Or 2019 LSU. I know their defense wasn't one of the greatest ever and their head coach was a literal borderline retarded person- but head up to win 1 game- give me 2019 LSU over anyone ever maybe. Joe Burrow was just so insanely unbelievably good in 2019 and the weapons they had at WR were just flat out ridiculous. Their #1 and #2 WR's were both 1st rd picks and are the two best WR's in the NFL right now today and their #3 WR was a 2nd rd pick and former 5* 'croot. They also had a RB go in the 1st rd who ran for 1,500 yards that year. That offense was just unstoppable once it got going.

LSU really that hard up for cash? maybe they are pissed they got outbid by Michigan for Underwood and want to make sure it doesn't happen again now that the schools can pay players directly?
