I had to sit quietly in meetings and listen to someone 4 levels above me make a clearly very bad and costly decision, and those 3 levels above me head nodding, even the ones who understood it was a bad and costly decision.

Once I was asked for my "opinion", I was asked whether what the VP had been saying about how great their patents were was true, and I responded "No.".
