Trivia 4.0 - Big Ten Coaches
« on: June 01, 2018, 03:09:53 AM »
This is a doozy.  Big Ten Coach of the Year.  Easy, right?  Wait a minute......

Here is a list of the years and schools where the B10 CoY lost more than 2 games in their seasons.  This is overall record, so a B10 CoY who went 10-2 will not be on this list, but if his team went 6-6, he's here.

See?  A doozy!  No research, just try your best.  Good luck!

2016 (tie - 2 coaches) Wisconsin, Penn St (both 11-3)
2014 Minnesota (8-5)
2012 Penn St (8-4)
2007 Illinois (9-4)
2003 Michigan St (8-5)
2000 Northwestern (8-4)
1999 Minnesota (8-4)
1997 Purdue (9-3)
1996 Northwestern (9-3)
1990 Iowa (8-4)
1988 Illinois (6-5-1)
1987 Indiana (8-4)
1986 Indiana (6-6)
1984 Purdue (7-5)
1982 Northwestern (3-8)
1981 Iowa (8-4)
1977 Michigan St (7-3-1)
1974 Michigan St (7-3-1)

Some of these coaches had better seasons without winning the Big Ten Coach of the Year.  Go figure!

I don't think Coletto is correct for Purdue. I think it was the guy before him, but I want to say Coletto was on that staff.
