I laughed that her name is Karen.

Hopefully she stays on Oceania and not Norwegian as she promised.

I personally am not interested in a cruise that is somehow fancier or more deluxe than NCL.  A clean Holiday Inn is fine with me.

Oceana is very nice, but way too expensive.

Azamara is perfect for us, as I've mentioned before. We'll maybe do a crossing later this year.

Spent some time recently in Cabo San Lucas--well, at a resort in Cabo San Lucas. All-inclusive (drinks, too) was just shy of $200/person. We opted out because even at resort pricing we wouldn't get there most of the time. That was the right decision for us.

It was lovely, although the constant hocking of wares on the economy was awful, so we enjoyed our beautiful views and the comfort of the resort, rather than spending much time actually in Cabo (similar experiences in CSL and San Jose del Cabo).

Have never really done the resort-style vacation before. It was nice to just relax with nothing to do.

I somehow omitted one stop on our trip that was among the most interesting, Ko Samui, Thailand.

Ko Samui - Wikipedia

I signed us up for an excursion to an elephant preserve that turned out to be a highlight.  This place had rescued 16 Asian elephants and we were able to feed and interact with them at very close range.  One of them kind of strangeled my wife briefly with its trunk.  This is me with one of them, they were quite friendly, and of course were interested in the food.

This was interesting, to me, on the right is our ship and to the left an Indian aircraft carrier, I think the Vikrant.

They had "No Photo!!" signs around the dock area, but that seems absurd.  This was taken from a boat tour.

That's an awesome pic.  I really love navy warships.  I don't love war, but the ships are just so cool.
