Austin is predictably dreary and cold, although the rain is done and it's supposed to be 68 and sunny this afternoon.
That's acceptable winter weather.

Plenty of space in badgerfan's neighborhood.  Bwar's, too.  They both have perfect weather!

No it's terrible.

Trust me, FF, you'll see tomorrow in the coverage at Torrey Pines. It's dreadful.

Not reading all 144 pages; anyone here have an opinion on Cabo San Lucas?

I know badgerfan likes it.

But I don't, I much prefer the Caribbean side.  Water is prettier and much warmer and is actually swimmable, they don't have the vicious riptides that the Cabos do.  The diving and snorkeling are excellent even along the mainland, and even better across at Cozumel.

My faves are Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres.  You get to them by flying into Cancun, but Cancun is way too "massive high-rise hotel" for me.

But if you like sport-fishing, then Cabo is definitely the place to go.

Cabo is too much like Southern Southern California for me - folks speak english, and use american dollars, and prices are HIGH

I prefer the Pacific side to the Caribbean side of Mexico, but I'm not much for watersports

Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco

Been in Fontainebleau in nice apartment seeing friends. Heading to Paris today.  Damp cold.  We might come back to this apt for a few weeks sometime.

Cabo is a nice place. When we go we rent a house in Pedregal. It's a good base and we can get to town any time we want. We hit up Costco and the fishermen and generally cook our meals.

We've had more days below freezing in Feb/Jan and I don't think it's particularly close
