I love airport bars.
The wife and I always find people to talk with at a bar.  And there is always great people watching

Exactly.  There's something about airports and airport bars-- the energy, the air of anticipation, or even dread-- I find it interesting and enjoyable.

Yeah there's nothing more disappointing than hearing about a great new beer bar or brewpub and then seeing that although they have 40 taps on the wall, 35 of them are some form of IPA.  I've turned around and walked straight out of places like that before.

I've stumbled out of some places like that before...

...I can't really function after trying about 10 or more of those IPAs, much less 35!

Speaking of which, Mr N reminded me the Beer Thread is 19 years old as of today (or yesterday maybe?).

It's almost old enough to drink beer!

Admittedly their beer list on the web site is a little bit "meh".

Outside of IPA variants, they've got a wheat beer with citrus, a light lager, a lager with lime, a standard lager, and a blonde ale.

But at an airport bar, they probably had Bud Fat. And if not, the standard lager probably is probably a suitable stand-in for Bud Fat if they did it well. Although they probably don't use rice, so it might have a little fuller body.

yup, had I been thirsty I woulda asked for a can of Bud

the bar, the bartender, the people sitting at the bar, just a bad vibe

the bar just stuck out from the wall behind it.  No walls on the other 3 sides.  Just out into the walkway in the airport

I rarely turn down a drink, but I just wasn't feeling it.

I dislike flying

It didn't say what the numbers meant, I'd guess crimes per.

Only a smallish part of Turkey is in Europe, and a large part of Russia.
