Visited Charleston a few weeks ago. Good God is that place a hotbox in the summer. I didn’t have the most extensive plans, but I basically stayed in and moved very little during most of the afternoon.

Lovely and get very weird city. Have slash have not history is almost built into the structure of it in a profound way.

(unrelated, but it is also not steaming hot in the southern city where I live this morning, so I almost felt obligated to get out and go for a walk before work just because of the temperature)

Coastal cities arae humid and hot this time of year.  I think ON the coast is a bit better due to usually having a breeze.

Atlanta is a bit better because of altitude, we're at about 1,000 feet, which usually is worth 4.5°F.

A breeze is great to have in summer, even a slight one.

I guess for now, until the big one hits and they slide off into the ocean.

They’re not humid. And some of them aren’t even hot. (although Oregon is understatedly hot)

You probably can find golf courses a lot closer, and cheaper.

We both are interested in "foreign culture", and have a tour guide living down the hall who will show us about.  He also speaks fluent German, so I may see if he'll join us in Vienna sometime.

Our friend is already there.  He has a beach house on the Adriatic and goes every summer.  I did get him a hotel room in Istanbul.

Our friends from Marseille are also joining us.  It's a zero Bday for me.
