A positive comment about "Clear":

It works quite well.

When we departed ATL, there was the usual long line in TSA Precheck (forget about non precheck).  We entered the CLEAR lane and were through in about a minute.

San Diego was backed up in precheck (not as much, but probably a 10 minutes wait), we were through in a minute.

My wife got the Global Entry thing, I didn't, we've yet to try it, but usually I clear immigration fairly quickly anyway and then wait on luggage after.

We have precheck. I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes.

Yeah, you don't live in ATL either.  The precheck line here can be 40 minutes and longer.  I've seen it spill out from the zig zag area, there was a line to get in line.*

Anyway, Clear works well, but is probably unneeded if you fly rarely and fly out of less congested airports.

*To be fair, when that happened, Clear took 20 minutes or so.

Ahh yeah, I haven't flown into / out of / through Atlanta in a LONG time... I think the only way I'd end up going to ATL is if I was visiting Georgia, because I've mostly flown American or Southwest since 2007 and that routes me through DFW or ORD if I'm heading to the east coast.

We had an 8:15 AM flight out to San Diego this week, so we showed up at ATL around 6:30 AM, the place was jammed.  Air travel is way up versus 2019 in my experience.

I appreciated getting through with Clear versus standing in line, picking up bags, moving a few feet, repeat.

Never had a problem in or out of SAN.

Pre-check generally getting out of here than it does ORD. Staffing is key.

RSW is modernizing though. Soon it will be a breeze.

My wife paid the tab, it was her dealings, I stayed quiet, which I think we the proper thing to do.

My step daughter has some "issues" I think, one of which is dealing with reality.
She's lucky I'm not her stepdad and you are.

I'd be on her like white on rice, like I was with my stepsons. They now appreciate that. They didn't then.

In Austin the precheck line is always long.  Sometimes longer than the normal line.  Yet another reason to stay away.

For me, it's not remotely worth it, and anything I might say would not be "helpful", at all.  This young lady, as I said, has "issues" beyond anything I can do to help.

She lives in France, so there is that.  She commented to someone else (in my hearing) about how she's unemployed but that's OK in France because in the US they just let you die, but in France, they keep paying you to stay on the dole.  OK, then.

I don't have to "deal with her" often at all, it's just best on those rare occasions to remain quiet.  It's a bit annoying, and my wife knows that.

Maybe slap her around a little or something. Or use your bat.

The other thing  that miffed me a bit is this gal flew from France to LA where she apparently stayed with friends several days, and then came to SD by car with her brother, fine, they all stayed at our resort on my nickel, OK fine.  Her brother is a fine fellow indeed and always comments how thankful he is that I provided the room.  She said nothing about it, free room for six nights at  a resort.

Then I learn she's flying to Edinburg for some concert, and then I guess back to France.  I hope my wife isn't paying for all this.  I'm not going to ask.

I know were I unemployed I wouldn't be traveling the world, I'd be hustling up some job.

The maritime layer, to me, is depressing.  It can linger all day.
Man, I love it. Wake up to a cool overcast morning, then maybe when it clears you get 74 and sunny. Makes it perfect to have a morning round of golf without it getting too hot, and it starts getting sunny about halfway through the back 9.

The closer you are to the coast the more it can linger of course. I don't mind when it lingers. I like the "cold".

it's seasonal though... They named this portion of the year "May Gray" followed by "June Gloom".

Yeah it's depressing.  "Sunny, warm California" is such a misnomer.

I love it. Can get in an AM run, maybe walk somewhere when it’s still cool.

Granted, it’s always a change up for me. So it’s a relief compared to the heat I live with much of the year.
