Got in and the whole town was dead. Supposedly there's a country concert at Lucas Oil and that's why? And I guess the NIT.

Ordered a pizza via GrubHub which is supposedly going to be 30 minutes later than quoted .Hotel bar was closed already and they can't sell packaged from their little hotel market, so that means no beer for me nor wine for the Mrs after a long day of travel. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement.

How can pizza suck?

Well even when it's bad, it's still alright. But I'd never order there again.

I would think the best shrimp cocktails might be on the Gulf coast.  Is there something special about them other than having good shrimp?

They use the best shrimp I've ever had (yes, I'm in Florida).

The sauce. Oh man, that sauce.

I like the occasional shrimp cocktail but really can't tell much difference between them (some are not good, I agree).  And to me they are way over priced at lofty dining places, like $20 for 4 shrimp.

My taste buds are pretty pedestrian, fortunately, my wife will claim a thing is either terrible or terrific and it tastes pretty normal to me.

She's more into oysters.

If I want shrimp, I just get frozen raw shrimp at Kroger and have at it.  But it's not my favorite.  Neither is lobster.

I likely don't know, and maybe that's OK.  Shrimp cocktail is not high on my list of things to eat anyway.  I can't remember the last time I ordered one out.

When we go to Hilton Head, we will hit the oyster places that have their own boats, and they do a pretty good job, my wife still claims they are better in Brittany.  I can tell some difference in oysters, and of course, one can stumble across pretty bad ones.

I do like crab legs a lot, haven't had them in eons either.  Back in the day, I'd look forward to a trip to Florida for FRESH fish, but it seems now everything is frozen.  I had some fresh walleye a few times and it is incredible (not in Florida!).  I've had fresh grouper in Florida that was outstanding, but not in decades.

A friend once told me that raw oysters were just an excuse to eat cocktail sauce, but I've learned not to use that on good oysters.

I do. We've had a very good shrimp cocktail at Mastro's Ocean Club, but I fail to see why it's worth $30 for four shrimp. Even if they were the best shrimp I've ever had, I still don't think it's worth it.
