Headed home and stopped at Tallulah Gorge in GA, don't have any photos from my phone.  Part of Deliverance was filled there.

Then they wanted to see the World of Coke here and then the Georgia Aquarium.

Vancouver is mostly nice, expensive of course.  We took a seaplane tour which was rather droll really for the money, and a bus tour which was quite good, my daughter learned some things.  Dining was not that expensive, the CA $ is worth $0.74.  Gas was $2.09 CA per Litre.  A lot of Asians about town, Canadianized mostly.  We had a great lunch in Chinatown.  Another seafood place was also terrific.  They have a very large port there, I noticed a mountain of sulfur near the docks for example.

A very walkable city, and we did.  My daughter has an apt in Yaletown near BC Stadium.  We walked 6-7-8 miles per day.  We traversed an area akin to the Tenderloin district in SF on the bus tour and we passed a group in an alcove that appeared to be shooting up something in Chinatown.  They asked me something, we kept walking.

We flew into Seattle to "save" a few bucks, not a great idea, rental car and gas (>$5 in Seattle) soaked up most of the savings, and it took over an hour to reenter the US by car.  Live and learn.

San Diego for a week visiting family.  Seems like a nice town overall.  We did a  trolley tour.  LaJolla is ritzy.

Weather is cool in evening and very nice during the day.

Watched some  CFB yesterday,  some  good games like USCe vs Clemson.

Back from a week in SD.  Our 2:40 PM flight home was delayed ... and delayed ... and delayed, the crew was stuck in Seattle.  We had a roaring time in the Delta lounge with other waiting travelers.  They opened the bar up later and I got some Woodford.  We landed at 3:20 AM through a pretty bad thunderstorm.  Found a cab and got home quickly at least.

San Diego is apparently what folks might think California is like, relatively clean, few homeless, no tents that I saw, cooler at night than I expected, below 50°F and I took no coat.  We did a bus tour that was nicely done.  Had lunch in Little Italy.  Stayed the last night at the airport Hampton which is new and super clean.  Traffic generally was not bad, I drove quite a bit (in the rented Maxima, which wasn't fun to drive at all).

I bought the wife a new jewelry box from a vendor on Lajolla Beach, he spoke fluent French which meant a large discount, beautiful inlay work.  The whole family was there except my kid in Austin.  Did not have any amazing food anywhere, some decent tacoes a couple times.  At one place the tacoes were rolled up into cylinders which was a bit odd to me.

Nice weather in the day of course, sunny mostly, blue skies.  Glad to be home again, slept well, but not long enough.

I'll get a photo of it, it really is a work of art, she won't use it for jewelry (much).
