Maryland’s record the 10 years previous to Fridge:  37-73

Fridge’s 10 years there:  75-50

The 8 years since firing Fridge:  38-61
Wow, that contrast is striking.

Lol.  In his defense he’s always super critical of the coaching and players too but he really can’t help himself with the officiating.  I think every fanbase has a faction that is convinced their team gets more bad whistles than others.  I know there are a few on WVU’s message board that have personal hard ons for the refs every game.
Look, fouls happen. I'm fair about it, but McFarland falling down on a play getting called for Chop block, a tackle that ends up going around the back of a helmet being a 15-yard penalty and extending a drive, a pass interference that was weak to be mild, and you just can't help it.

There have been way too many blatant crazy calls that make no sense, and that usually help the other team extend drive or change of possession, or change momentum.

There are plenty of times where I say, yeah that was pass interference, but too many times it's not.

This team has the same problems. The offensive line can never seem to get it together. I'm not a fan of starting Jackson over Piggy. I think piggy has a better chance with his legs to make a play Then Jackson does. And the unfair thing for him is, they throw him in in the middle of a bad game to "create a spark", but then he looks bad trying to get into a rhythm when the other teams already in a rhythm.

Then, the defense suffers because they're on the field the entire game and then they look bad.

It's frustrating when your team's not good, with all the talent that's on the team, but it's even worse when the officials make it that more difficult with BS calls.

Michigan should play Rutgers every week. Maybe then Harbaugh could get his team to Indy.

All I’m saying is the next time I meet a fan who says, “Honestly, my team gets favorable whistles most of the time” it will be the first.  It’s just human nature.  Fans dwell on the bad (or perceived bad) calls that go against their team and gloss over the ones that go in their favor.

On more than one occasion I’ve pulled quotes from WVU’s message boards during a basketball game and then pulled quotes from our opponent’s message board for the same game.  You wonder how they can even be seeing the same game.  Both factions railing against the officiating screaming how they are getting screwed.

Also keep in mind that you have seen every bad (or perceived bad) call that has went against Maryland in the last what, 5, 10, 15, 20 years?  You see enough and you start thinking that their games are uniquely officiated.  But every team in the country has fans who think their games are uniquely officiated.

Generally Penn St and Michigan are the fan bases that are most notorious for pinning all of their losses on the zebras.

Neither school has ever lost a game fair and square.
In our (Penn State) we usually bitch in close games and not blow outs. I’ll never forgive Lloyd Carr getting two seconds “added” to the 2005 game.

Yeah, I would tend not to fault the zebras for a blow out loss.

Every fan sees calls in every game that go against their team.  They see very few that go for their team.  It's part of being a fan.

But then again, maybe the refs have it in for some team for whatever reason and really want to favor their opponent to get a blowout.  It's possible.

This Cincy UCf game is good. UCF moved the ball in the first half but couldn't score much. The Bearcats controlled the third quarter
