Can Wisconsin hang with OSU?
Doubtful. The running game against Illinois didn't look the same. The passing game looked great, but as Purdue v Illinois showed, maybe that's not very hard.

The Big 12 may be eliminated from the playoff now. The season is going reasonably well with respect to COVID I think. Not perfect, but also not an immediate disaster.
The conferences showed some flexibility in getting this thing moving. I was just idly wondering if the Pac 12 was playing at all. I checked, they are. huh.
We're making it through with COVID. There will still be games canceled / postponed, but it looks like the season won't be completely blown up.

The top three teams preseason to me look like the real top three teams.  Alabama had some defensive issues that may have been addressed.  Clemson has a QB issue due to COVID.  Ohio State may not have any issues.

Hmmph, why is that?

so, apparently I don't understand the Big Ten's COVID rules / requirements.

Badgers have 22 positive cases and they're still deciding if they will play next Saturday?

Illinois has 12 positive cases and they played yesterday?

The Big Ten Conference will use data provided by each Chief Infection Officer (CInO) to make decisions about the continuation of practice and competition, as determined by Test Positivity Rate and Population Positivity Rate, based on a seven-day rolling average:
Test positivity rate (number of positive tests divided by total number of tests administered):
Green 0-2%
Orange 2-5%
Red >5%
Population positivity rate (number of positive individuals divided by total population at risk):
Green 0-3.5%
Orange 3.5-7.5%
Red >7.5%

I have not checked the Illinois part, but 10 of Wisconsin’s are staff members. I still bet the badgers don’t play.

"He's doing great," Swinney said of Lawrence. "[He] Zoomed the team last night, [and I] talked to him this morning, feels like he can play today. He's doing well, but obviously there's protocol. He will be out in time to play [against Notre Dame], but you have the cardiac part of it.

It would be useful if they know how he contracted it obviously.

Then they might have to do contact tracing and have other players out.

Better to just hide it.

I just wonder how such a premier player could get exposed.  I know it's possible obviously, but I'd have him on lock down.
