I don't think that was his insinuation at all.

I think it was that for many high-profile athletic recruits, given the choice between Madison and Miami, choose the weather advantages of Miami. He wasn't saying 5* RBs don't want to go to Wisconsin, he was saying that elite players with other options probably aren't going to Wisconsin even if the offensive scheme is a fit.

Now, some places overcome that. Michigan, Notre Dame, and OSU have helmet... But UW does not.

You'd think that a 5* OL or a 5* RB from Arizona would look at Wisconsin, because they have a very friendly scheme to showcase their talent... But do they want to spend 3 years in Madison winters with Bertha in her parka? Or can they go somewhere that will showcase their talents AND have scantily-clad coeds running around campus for a lot more of the school year?
This goes along with my hypothesis that far fewer players from out west go to schools in the east than vice versa (per capita, or whatever).
Someone would have to do a study, but I'd guess that there are FAR more kids leaving shitty, midwestern weather than volunteering for it without having grown up in it.

Many people come back to that shitty midwestern weather when they realize the desert sun has cooked the craniums of many yapping jackels in the SW.Most pleasant days of the winter so far hovering in the 20s with the sun bouncing off the snow everyone has been wearing shades specially driving west

When does it start to warm up?
Returning to football, I see Iowa's season ending opponent for 2021 has switched from Wisconsin to Nebraska, which will be played Black Friday.

10 day forecast says we will be cold for the next 9 days here.  Warming up to 26 Friday the 19th.

I like the switch

I dislike losing traditions, but if new traditions can be started, it's ok.

Oregon starting quarterback and sophomore Tyler Shough will finish out his final three years of college eligibility at a different school.

Shough announced Friday morning via his Twitter account that he was no longer going to play at Oregon and would be transferring to a different school.

Shough played and started in all seven games for the Ducks in 2020. This was his first year as the starting quarterback for the Oregon Ducks. He finished the season throwing for 1,559 yards and 13 touchdowns, completing 106 of his 167 attempts, and also threw six interceptions. Shough averaged 9.3 yards per attempt this past season. Shough also ran for 66 carries in 2020 and finished the year with 271 yards on the ground and two more touchdowns.

Following the Fiesta Bowl, Shough was asked about this stance with Oregon after being benched and if he would return.

MSU should just go win a spring FCS title...except they'd probably be like the 5th beat FCS team

Looks like ex Buckeye Tate Martell is out at the U, crystal ball says he going back home to UNLV.

and am I reading this right? 247 is saying TTUN has 14 guys entering the portal?
https://247sports.com/college/michigan/Season/2021-Football/TransferPortal/

Is this all old news and I'm just digging up nothing? But 14 guys turning tail seems really high.

I oversold it. NMSU is basically playing a D2 schedule. They have NM Highlands who is D2, along with Dixie State and Tarleton State, who just moved up from D2 to FCS this year.
