Jeep people are a little out there. Talk about brand loyalty!

My middle brother has one and he's weird about it. It's ALWAYS broken.

Yeah Jeep brand loyalty is quite strong.  And although we've had no problems with ours, they certainly have a repuation for unreliability.

But we don't have ours for any reasons of brand loyalty.  We have ours because my i s c & a aggie wife thinks it's cool, has always wanted one, and loves to drive it.

Exactly. I'd always wanted one. In 2012, I bought one. A couple years later, life changed and I needed a different daily driver. But the Jeep was paid off, so I kept it and now it's a fun toy.

Do I expect perfect reliability? No. But because it's just a toy, it only has 75K miles, not a ton for a 17 year old vehicle. And if something does go wrong, it's not my daily driver so I can deal with it at my convenience, not as an emergency. Even if that means wrenching on it myself.

My brother is on his 4th or 5th I think. I've lost track of how many lemons he's had.
