Because I've watched both Texas and IU play this year, and I don't think IU would be winning the "close" games that Texas has.  As has been stated, they look like a 15-20ish kind of team.  Texas is much closer to Ohio State and Oregon, than to Indiana.  And we saw what Ohio State did to them.

Just my opinion of course, but I'm comfortable with it.
I guess but Texas has one win within single digits, which was at Vandy. The same number as Indiana.

Before yesterday Texas' SOS was 38 and Indiana's was 104 or something.  You can try to pretend they've played similar schedules but the stats don't support that.

After yesterday Texas was at 36 and Indiana was at 51, at least on ESPN. I'm not arguing Texas hasn't played a bit tougher schedule, but I don't think there is any argument that both teams have played one elite team and a bunch of also rans, with Texas's a bit better than Indiana's.

I mean, I can argue that Indiana would have lost a couple on Texas' schedule that Texas didn't lose.  In fact that's exactly what I'm arguing.

You can certainly disagree with that, but, you're not going to make a compelling argument to me.

Well, to put it differently, Indiana would be favored over every single Texas opponent besides Georgia. So by the numbers, Indiana and Texas would have the same record.

That's what happens when a team is overrated, they get favored in games they shouldn't be, and then they lose those games.

What part of my stance do you not understand?  I'll state it plainly-- I believe Texas is a significantly better team than Indiana.  I believe Texas is as much better than Indiana, as Ohio State is.  I believe Indiana would have lost one or two of the games that Texas won.

Again, you can disagree with my opinion, but you're not going to make a compelling argument to me.

You just don't have any numbers that support you.

So what?  It's college football, not the global macroeconomy.

It just means I already made the compelling argument, you just don't want to accept it ;)

There are no compelling stats.  Talking about betting line favorites in a game?  Not compelling.

I’ve got a fun exercise….lets see how many Texas players are drafted in the first 3 rounds and drafted overall in the next two drafts vs IU and my gut tells me there’s going to be a lot more Texas players in all instances.

"Vegas" isn't predicting outcomes, they're setting lines to get even betting on each side so the house makes money both ways.  This has always been among the silliest arguments sports fans choose to engage in.  I'll leave you to it.

I've got an even more fun exercise - if you are starting a team tomorrow, are you hiring Sark or Cignetti? And I'm not being cheeky - I think it would be a fun exercise. Both are great coaches.
