The actual 2021 Women's Volleyball Thread

Yeah, Kentucky won the 2020 title played this past spring but the 2021 season starts this week as well.

Texas our preseason #1.   Usual suspects in the T10.  Can WI stop being a bridesmaid?  Is Ohio State for real.  Hey, Rutgers has a pulse.  Where will Nebraska play all these new blue chips. Is Russ Rose out of gas?  Is Kathy George going to hang around much longer?  Purdue FF caliber?  BTN?  BTN with some good coverage which I'm sure will drop off once hoops starts.

Covid has left us with a quirky situation of crowded rosters and some seniors that have decided to come back thanks to the NCAA allowing another year of eligibility.

Minnesota gagged that 4th set vs Baylor last night.  Baylor will play Wisconsin tonight on TV.   With this Covid super senior eligibility,  some of these rosters are quite bloated.

Meanwhile, Penn St lost season opener to GA Tech.

Horns play Minnesota on Wednesday up in Minneapolis.  Swept #20 San Diego in Austin last night.

Here we go.

OSU took down big bad UDub, collecting a Pac 12 scalp for the mantel.

If it makes you feel any better,  Omaha just pushed Nebraska to 5 sets this afternoon.   Granted it's a doubleheader day and there were a few roster quirks for N today to manage,  some odd lineups but those matches can be good scares.

Not to worry. MSU rebounded by beating the shorts off of my Trailblazers this morning. :o

Saw that.  Seems like a couple cupcakes to set up for MSU-BYU tomorrow night.  Cougars should win

Last Wednesday I went to the Pavillion and watched the Gophers get beat by Texas.

Question for those of you who know far more about volleyball than I do: is it normal for a team to win a match despite a ton of service errors? I feel that the Horns could have made even shorter work of the Gophers had their serving been tolerable.
