Summer and Cupcake Season Are Over: Week 4 Thread

The temps have fallen. We sat and drank around a fire in our neighbor's driveway last night while the kids and some adults ran through a haunted house they made in their yard. It's a perfect 71 degrees outside now, but it will be coolish this evening. Hoody season is here and it is glorious.

The 3-2 Westerville North Warriors take on the 2-3 Westerville South Wildcats to see who will become king of Westerville, I suppose. Both teams appear to be pretty mid, but after watching the Big Ten West for so many years, nothing wrong with that.

Conference play is finally in full effect, though annoyingly my daughter has a marching band competition tomorrow that maybe ends at 6 pm and maybe ends at midnight. I'm not going, but I do have to pick her up so no Elvis Juice for me.

I am interested in the NW @ Indiana game.  NW gave Colorado a pummeling last week.   The Indy game will be a good test to find out how good NW is or not.

This will be the first of 2 Friday night games in a row for NW.  NW will open its brand new $800M football stadium on Friday Oct 2 hosting Penn St.

Oddly, Army-Temple at 4:00 this afternoon on ESPN?

Surprised they don't do more stuff like this for G5 teams.  Delaware-Coastal Carolina played at 11:30 AM last Saturday.  It was on CBSSN, so not sure how many people were aware.  Guessing weekly 11AM games would do ok, but maybe ABC and FOX don't want to take potential viewers away from their pregame shows by putting games up against them on FS1, or ESPN2/U.

I can remember when a two point game in the fourth quarter between Indiana and Northwestern would be meaningless… Barely worth watching. I kind of love that this Friday night game is fascinating.

Northwestern is impressive.  Very scrappy.  

RG3 is insufferable in the booth, however.

Mornin' all hit the rack early I'm up, coffee is on and just saw the score of evidently a brawl in Bloomington. Didn't see it but so I read the re-cap on CBS they had this to say

"Northwestern played without injured cornerback Braden Turner and lost cornerback Josh Fussell on the game’s first series. He was in street clothes and on crutches before the first quarter ended. Chiles also left for one play after he apparently suffered a dislocated finger on his nonthrowing hand."

So the Hoosiers can be had - at home,good to know.

Waking up and getting coffee at cousin's in Richmond VA, where after a rainy week, a cold front has moved in and finally cooled down the city. Will be watching games all day with my cousin's husband who is a huge Michigan fan, whom I am supposed to assist with his weekly pick'em selections. We're looking most forward watching Texas-Tennessee and, of course, Iowa-Michigan.
