I didn't know Chewins went down on the first snap. Also wow that OL experimenting got frenetic. I guess the take aways are that Chewins is functionally indispensable and the new center isn't the same as the guy who graduated.

Chewins has played one snap all season.  He was a late scratch in the Utah State game too.  Yeah, the OL is obviously the most disappointing aspect of the team so far considering the strength it was expected to be.  You return 4 starters from a solid unit, and you expect progress.  As you said you lose one starter to injury, and the one hole you had to fill has become arguably the biggest weakness on the team, and the whole thing crumbles.

Given that they are trying to put him out there, it seems like Chewins's thing is at least day to day.
