Feels like the hyper talented quarterbacks have had a harder go of it of late. And weirdly, playing early or waiting doesn’t seems to be that much of an indicator.

Probaby has to do with the money. What incentive is there to actually work and grind to the top to make it to the NFL when you’re 17 years old coming out of HS now with a $12 million in the bank. Underwood started the season at Michigan last year at 17 and already had a $12 million contract. NIL is ruining the game completely on every level.

These uber-athletes struggle because they're not actually good QBs.  They're the best athlete on the field in HS and can just video-game themselves into 4-5 stars.

They even fight against learning to become a real QB, complaining that they can just out-athlete everyone into college.  You don't even have to look at Underwood for this, you can look at someone getting really positive publicity - Alabama's QB.  He had something like 330 total yards in a blowout win.  Cool.  If you watched the game, he routinely held onto the ball, rarely throwing it on-time.  He just scrambled around a lot.  That's useful, sure, but if that's your #1 attribute, you're not a good QB.  You can do it against Directional Tech, but when you play a big-boy team, you're fucked.

Everyone wants to be Vince Young, and they're not.  I'd argue it's not a good plan to try to be Vince Young.  As great as he was, his best attribute was scrambling. 
A better goal is becoming a quality QB who throws the ball on time, immediately at your 3 or 5-step drop.

All kidding aside, announcers need to only mention players who signed out of HS with the team they're currently on. 

They need to stop telling us where they transferred from.  That's the default now, we get it.

I’m not ready to give up on him yet. The kid is still 18 and won’t be 19 for another month I think. Let’s pump the brakes on throwing in the towel on him. The honest to gods truth is he shouldn’t have started last year- Mikey Keane was suppose to be the guy and got hurt. Bryce should’ve been sprinkled in or redshirted but Michigan did not have that luxury. If Bryce doesn’t get better as the season goes on then we have a problem- but not giving up on him yet- he’s way too talented.

Michigan OL was the biggest head scratcher for me last night. For all the hype of Whittingham bringing in Hardy from Utah- one of the best OL coaches supposedly- to all the talk about all the young talent they have on OL…didn’t see jackshit vs a powderpuff MAC team. They couldn’t get anything going on the ground and the pass protection was piss poor. This was against a fucking MAC team.

Now imagine that OL vs the talent of an Oklahoma front 7 with Veneables scheming things up. LOL.
