Found this on the Land of Ten, but it's an ESPN work. The Madman can stop throwing stones from his glass house now, I reckon.

*************************************

Here's how a former Big Ten assistant assessed 12 of the visiting locker rooms in the league. It's definitely a problem.

Illinois = pathetic.
Purdue = pathetic.
Nebraska = OK.
Wisconsin = OK.
Iowa = OK.
Michigan = below average.
Michigan State = pathetic.
Minnesota = nice.
Maryland = pathetic.
Northwestern = pathetic.
Penn State = OK.
Ohio State = below average.

Looks like he ranked them better than Purdue, so maybe he can actually still throw stones at them.
I thought I settled my debts that night on the ride home
But I have still got hell to pay

"Below Average" for a mega-rich program is not acceptable.

Word on the street is that Michigan's visiting locker room is pretty nasty as well.

It was ranked below average by whoever the former coach was. But, in fairness, they just did a lot of renovation so maybe they improved it with that work.

That's when UW's got nicer - in 2005 with the reno. Before that it was.. Purdue.

All that aside, why take this to the media in the first place? Have your AD call their AD, get Delany involved and do it behind closed doors. But no. That's not how he does things.

Beanie Wells does local radio. In his opinion, teams should make it as unpleasant as possible for the visiting team. That goes on from HS all the way on up, and is just part of the deal.

That said, he declared Iowa's was the nicest, in spite of the fact it was pink.

He said in 2007, Michigan cut off the electricity and clogged three of the toilets before OSU showed up. They had to plunge the commodes themself before they could use them.

Apparently Purdue's was out in some sort of a shed.

This ranking was by a single anonymous former assistant coach.  Not some sort of official audit against a checklist of minimum requirements.  So, I wouldn't read too much into it.

Call it a conspiracy theory, but its because 1) Purdue and Michigan are currently fighting for a 4* recruit in Indiana.  Harbaugh gets to trash Purdue and at the same time gets to cloak it in an "appeal for player safety" and 2) Despite the final score, that game was pretty close, at least up through the third quarter.  Harbaugh had to put up with an entire weeks worth of Purdue being the scrappy underdog along Michigan's offensive troubles.  Harbaugh's team didn't get to embarrass us like he hoped, so he goes after the facilities in an open forum instead.

Note:  This is not what I believe, but what I have read on a few message boards (and specifically not Purdue ones at that.  MSU and OSU).

Works for me. Otherwise there was no reason to bring it up at a presser. None.

Purdue - Gamesmanship only goes so far, Purdue.  You WAY crossed that line.  No AC?  OK, fine.  Toilets without doors?  Pushing it.  Only 2 toilets for the entire visitor's locker room?  Subpar medical facilities and equipment?  WAY over the line.  Worse?  You made me agree with Jim Harbaugh.  UGHHHH
Maybe Jimmy has a point.  As a visiting Purdue fan to a few games at Michigan, I've always found the accommodations to be stellar.  I've not ever even had a problem taking a dump, literally anywhere, on their campus. Always happy to leave a little bit of Pure Michigan behind on game day.
