Stirring the pot 3
« on: September 21, 2017, 05:33:13 PM »
It's time to annoy everyone again.

Penn State - The soft schedule is going to hurt them against Iowa this week.  Iowa has played 3 teams with a pulse, and that experience will pay dividends this weekend.  I bet Iowa jumps out to an early lead.  Also, Let's be honest here.  Franklin DID ice the kicker in a 56-0 game.

Michigan & Ohio State - Over the years I've been listening to opposing players talk about the toughest stadium they have played in.  Iowa, Penn State, Nebraska and Wisconsin are often named.  On rare occasions the Shoe is named.  Michigan?  Almost never.  Some might say the shape of Ohio and Michigan stadiums don't hold the sound in as well as the previously mentioned teams.  Me?  I think the Ohio State and Michigan fans are the problem.  Especially Michigan.  They ought to change their stadium cheer to "down in front."

Iowa - I hate this team so much.  They will somehow find a way to beat Penn State this weekend, and then lose to Illinois or Northwestern a couple weeks later.  Every year they do this...and Penn State seems to be on the wrong side more often than not.  Fortunately last year Iowa decided to pick on Michigan instead.

Nebraska - Your fans and administrators did this.  Firing coaches in the middle of a 10 win season?  Check.  Firing coaches because they weren't "nice?"  Check.  Hiring an average coach from another league?  Check.  Abandoning the triple option because you only won a couple of national championships with it?  Check.  You want to know how far you've dropped?  I can't even tell you if Penn State plays Nebraska this year.

Michigan State - Isn't this week the anniversary of John L Smith slapping himself?

Maryland & Rutgers- Apparently MD had last week off?  I almost didn't notice.  Well, at least that's a tougher opponent than Rutgers had.

Wisconsin - You guys corrupted the mormons so much they are going to start selling caffeinated soda at BYU football games now.  It's a slippery slope.  Corruption is now going to progress at such a rate when you go back in 2019 I expect the administration to have mandated stripper poles in the freshman dorms.  P.S.  Please schedule a series with Liberty U....

Is this the same Beef Taco that used to be on the old CFNdotCom boards?  The same Beef Taco that used to help me give that CharlesInCharge guy a bunch of hell?  Man, it's been a long time.  I've searched the web high and low for the old gang.  My absence, I can assure you, has nothing to do with Purdue's abysmal football years. :72:   What a great coincidence that I found all you guys at the same time that Purdue football is entertaining again.  It's good to back Taco!  PSU is looking pretty stout.

No, I'm pretty sure you're talking about Big Beef Taco Zupreme.

We're currently dealing with Big Beef Taco Supreme.

It's the little things...

And yeah, charlesincharge is a name I recall.  What was his team?

Well, maybe James Franklin will finally beat Michigan this year....

Michigan is 15-2 at home under Harbaugh, with a 10-game home winning streak, and the crowd is louder for bigger games (eg. Wisconsin last year). We'll see what happens against OSU, though.... Meanwhile, it's not like Northwestern, Indiana, or Purdue* are tough environments, much less Rutgers and Maryland.

*I'll be there on Saturday, and while I expect there to be a much bigger buzz than when I was there in 2012, I bought my ticket yesterday, and there were still quite a few on sale, and I know there will be a decent contingent of Michigan fans, so I just don't see it being that different....

Yep.  That was about 16 years ago?  You're an old man now.

It's time to annoy everyone again.

Last week you said you didn't want to annoy Purdue fans because that's just too cruel.

And then you annoy Purdue fans this week by our conspicuous absence from your post.
What, we're not important enough to annoy? We're part of this league too, dammit!
