2026 Toyota Tacoma Review, Pricing, and Specs

It does have competition.

Car and Driver tests cars off the floor. Let me know when that Chevy hits 150K miles. Hell, show me the resale value after a mere 5 years.

Sure, US models usually depreciate more than many foreign makes, but the Tacoma does have competition.  I'd note also that US models usually can be bought new at a decent discount to MSRP, so some of the depreciation is not properly calculated in my view.

Chevrolet Colorado Depreciation | CarEdge

8% loss in five years according to this, from MSRP, vs about half that for a Tacoma.

The Honda has higher depreciation, around 33%.

My massage therapist is German. Been here 3 years. I like her.

We were talking cars - she likes Mercedes. Now I like her even more.

Anyway, it's cheaper to buy one here than in Germany. That was shocking to me, so I came home and checked.

It's true.

My wife really digs those camper vans like the one you posted.  The Mercedes is a pricy little thing though, go figure.

My Dad recently bought a Colorado, should be fine to pull the 24' pontoon, but I think he wants to break it in for a couple of years while I tow it with my 6.2 GMC.  Which, I continue to be fortunate with--saw yet another blurb about engine failure for the '21-24 models, and the replacement engine ALSO failing.  Seems like 2020 could have been the sweet spot.

Japanese stuff running longer has to be the reason for them keeping their value better than domestic for the past 40+ years.  Maybe Detroit has their act together, but even if they did, it will take decades to even that playing field.  GM's engine problems can't be helping that cause.

Yeah, he paid about $300K for his. He has a lot of money, so it didn't hurt one bit.
