I remain amused how "muscle cars" of the bygone era actually often were pretty slow and some were underpowered by any standard of today even using small SUVs.
I'm not taking about the inflated hp figures listed with no alternator etc., but SAE Net HP and 0-60 times. I recall my 1973 Nova with a 350 cid had 185 hp and did 0-60 in 8.5 according to the mags. Our little Tucson is listed at 7.1 seconds and 231 hp.
That Nova wasn't a muscle car but was comparatively fast in 1973.
Now you get the lowest hp Mustang and it's over 300 hp.
