The Pontiac Aztec is so hideous I consider it even uglier than a Cybertruck... And that's saying something.

The Corvette Debuted in 1955’s ‘Kiss Me Deadly’

a 1954 Corvette C1 in black — Pennant Blue and Sportsman Red were also available that year — is gifted to Hammer (Ralph Meeker) by mob boss Carl Evello (Paul Stewart). After ridding the vehicle of two bombs planted inside it, the crooked, womanizing Hammer spends the rest of the film cruising the ‘Vette around L.A., including one now-classic shot beneath the Angels Flight funicular in Bunker Hill. “The relatively new Corvette appears not only as a celebration of American technology,” writes Jerry W. Pason in The Corvette in Literature and Culture, “but also as an extension of the hero’s violently aggressive heterosexuality — two things that remind us of the apocalyptically destructive nuclear age represented in the film.”

Chevy Corvette: A Brief History in Zero-to-60-MPH Acceleration

The 0-60 of course is quite overdone, but it is one clean metric.

The got down to 5.3 seconds in 1970-71, then things ballooned back up to 7.6 in 1980 when they got faster, and faster.

They broke 3 seconds only after going midengine.  They were traction limited before that.

I saw some meme which I lost about folks claiming Teslas are Nazi cars now while driving VWs.

I'm also struck by how Tesla owners broadly speaking are liberals, many conservatives are dismissive of EVs entirely.  Now they are kind of stuck.  I know some of them are selling theirs.

I suppose political leaning is a good of a reason to buy a car as "it's cute" or "the color" or "my dad had one" or most other reasons

I'm more practical and rational to a degree.
Although, I'm not buying an Asian car or an ugly vehicle (SUV) (minivan) (AMC)

I'm pretty sure that there is a high correlation between "liberals" and "enviromentalists", folks who worry a lot about climate change.  Ergo, some of them bought Teslas believing that would save a tree etc.  Now Elon is on the "outs" with them.  My wife chatted with a lady in our building about her new Tesla, she made it a distinct point that she DID NOT LIKE ELON, but thought she needed that car.

Sheryl Crow sells her Tesla and donates proceeds to NPR. The singer recently dumped her Tesla in protest of the company's owner, Elon Musk.
