There can be down the road issues with a speeding citation as well, especially if accumulated.

I'd be afraid of killing somebody, especially me.

I wonder if Hank just sold that car right away.  He was more of a pickup kind of guy who liked fishing.

I mentioned in the other thread that our rental was a Chevy Trailblazer, which today is a quite small SUV.  It had a 3 cylinder turbo engine and I think a CVT that was not really noticeable in driving it.  Pick up was adequate.  Handling was decent.  Overall, it seemed like an OK kind of vehicle for the money, which is about $26 K with discounts for the base model.  I could get a read on mpgs.  My wife drove it once and opined it was quite a bit not as nice as the Tucson (which costs about $40K).

Man the Trailblazer has become tiny.  My dad had one in the mid 2000s that was the follow-on the the S-10 Blazer, and at that time it would have been considered a midsize SUV but much much larger than the current version.  His was like this:

I had a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer, which was originally the S-10 Blazer.  In '95 Chevy started phasing out the K-5 Blazer which eventually morphed into the Tahoe, and the S-10 became the only Blazer, for a while.  I loved my 95 Blazer, and although it was one of the smallest SUVs on the market at the time, it was still quite large compared to today's compact and subcompact SUVs.  Mine was similar to this, but had a silver two-tone bottom part down below that trimline.

Yeah my dad's got totaled after a couple of years when a semi pretty much ran over him, so I have no idea how "good" it was.  It was perfectly fine for the time he had it.

My 95 Blazer was fantastic.  4.3L V6 Vortec engine (same engine that was in my '93 runabout) was bulletproof and had plenty of power, 4x4, towing capacity over 7,000 lbs.  I loved that car.  It hit 180K and was still in decent shape but when we found out my i s c & a aggie wife was pregnant with our first, she wanted something bigger, something with a 3rd row, and so we moved on to the Tahoe.

Yeah, I thought at first it was an Equinox, but it's their smallest "SUV".  I was a bit surprised how adequate it was.  I chose it because it was white mostly.

Rental cars often are crappy, though this was more prevalent 20 years ago.  My previous rental was through a discount place and the car had 65K miles on it.  This one was under 2 K (Enterprise).

2025 Chevrolet Equinox First Drive Review: Better the Fourth Time Around? (motortrend.com)

This is a size up from the Trailblazer I had as a rental.  I was interested in the comments about the CVT.  The one I drove was pretty OK overall, previous versions I've driven with CVTs were awful.
