We had a CTS, which is the forerunner to the CT5, maybe a touch larger in fact.  It wasn't a large car inside, or in trunk space.  An Accord would feel roomier, in part due to having FWD instead of RWD or AWD.  Our CTS was the pokiest with the turbo 4 though for me, it had plenty of pickup.  It could go when I needed it to go, just not blazing fast.  The other odd thing, to me, is the ride comfort was pretty stuff, I'm getting old, it had the Magnaride, which helped a lot with handling no doubt.

The CT4 of course is smaller.

I wish they still made the CT5-V

They do.  

Yeah, the 6 is a more traditional Cadillac, and one version had the actual "Blackwing engine" in it (per above).  GM does odd things it seems to me, things that are predictably stupid at times, while at other times they do some great engineering.  

My favorite comment from one of the car mags a few years back, "The best BMWs today are Cadillacs.".  But today, Cadillac really is about 98% Escalade and 2% other.

I was never interested in a Mustang, because they were not known for their steering and handling. That all changed in recent years with the GT500 Shelby.  That car was simply sick and how you could throw it around the corner or a curve and then hit straight line speed with 750 hp.  I had that car for about two years, but it was not fun to drive around in traffic and so I sold it.

Replaced him with a AMG 63SGT.  Much heavier than Mustang but could handle better than 99% of the cars on the road. Plus, it was 4matic ( Mercedes AWD system) So you could put the power down and launch regardless of the surface. Kept that one for about a year and a half and just recently sold it too.  Cars are a sickness for me so I buy and sell them pretty often 

perhaps the best car I’ve ever owned is my current CT4-V Blackwing.  The handling is unbelievable as you can stick that thing in a corner and drift out of it with ease anytime you want to.  Car and driver does not rate cars 10 out of 10 and give it Car of the year three years in a row for nothing.  And the price is actually very reasonable compared to its competition   

Typically great handling means a very stiff suspension and therefore a pretty stiff ride over bumps but General Motors figured out the magnetic ride control a few years back and it is spectacular and thus been copied by Lamborghini, Porsche, and many others. 
Generally, if you want to understand, the car is handling capabilities go to car driver and read It’s skid pad performance.  It needs to be at or higher than 1.0 G’s on the skid pad.

Well I mean, the AMG is about $100,000 more than the Mustang, so I would hope you'd get something for that difference in price...

Used is your friend. Get a CPO and it's like buying new except someone else took the beating off the lot.

Have you personally had good experiences with CPO?  I've never looked into it, but get nervous at the idea of paying for something that's not new.  

Well.....I've bought one used vehicle before, from my dad, and I knew he'd taken excellent care of it.

Absolutely. I haven't bought a new car since 1998. 2 years old, less than 20K miles.

Depends on the brand, of course. I've only done Benz and Volvo.

20K miles on those are nothing.
