We have better baseball records than weather records for God's sakes.

Kirk Ferentz was looking for the right words to describe the Hawkeyes' 13-10 walk-off victory over Nebraska football on Friday night. The Iowa football coach found them in his postgame comments in the form of a famous theoretical physicist.

"Just walking off the field, Albert Einstein quote kind of hit me about, 'Not everything that can be counted counts' and then, 'Not everything that counts can be counted.' I think that sometimes explains the way things going in sports," Ferentz said. "That's what's so interesting as much as you want to analyze it, slice it, dice it, cut it up, all that stuff. I know statistics are important, but sometimes you just have to find a way to win, and our team did that."

Iowa improved to 8-4 on the year, and Ferentz is now one win away from tying Woody Hayes in career victories as an active Big Ten Conference coach.

How many times do Iowa fans have to explain this.

Yards don't matter

Number of first downs don't matter.

Only thing that matters is who has the most points at the end of the game.

Geesesh,  Brian Ferentz figured this out a long, long time ago.  The spirit of Brian continues to live on in Iowa City even though he moved on last year.

Meyer always talked up punting as a non-loss.  Although he had to punt far less often than most everyone else.

well, to Kirk's credit, he follows thru by having a top 10 number of punts per season

Michigan didn't start any fight. Sawyer was just being a little pussy all in his feelings who couldn't take losing and getting embarrassed AGAIN for the 4th time in a row.

Hey here's an idea, you don't want them planting the flag in your stadium? Don't let them win the game. Do something on the field about it, not after the game is over. Definition of a punk ass pussy.

Michigan lost to Texas and they planted their flag in the Big House. What'd Michigan players do? Go to the locker room.....

Don't want someone planting their flag in your stadium....it's pretty simple....win the damn game. Otherwise shut the fuck up and just take the L like a man.

Agreed.  That's why they are the Auburn of the north now.  Wonder what 17 year olds he's moved onto hanging out with now
