That would be huge. 

I haven't priced ACA plans yet b/c I'm still too many years out, but I know we won't qualify for subsidies so it's gonna be expensive.

Nah. She's almost always out. It's quiet here most of the time.

This deal includes some nice $$$ income, healthcare for me (BCBS PPO), supplements for the wife (BCBS), BCBS dental for both and VSP vision for both. I also get short-term disability and a $50K life insurance plan.

If I feel like it, I'll go until I hit Medicare. If I don't feel like it, I won't.

Don't need it. But, as Kiss said, you gotta get all you can take.

Yeah, I strongly suggest factoring the cost of health insurance into any retirement plan.  I pay $168 a month for Part whatever on Medicare, and they take a few hundred out of my SS to pay for whatever else.  The $168 covers us both, I under appreciated this when I retired.

I wonder if you have a part or plan whatever. The mechanics of that are kind of interesting and very few people know jack about what they have.

Maybe I have part of a plan.  My experience is that it pays for nearly everything, including dental and vision.  I paid for my corrective vision thing.  I pay $30 deductable for an annual physical.  Sometimes my wife's dental stuff is complicated and we pay some of it.  My cataract surgery was "free", maybe a deductable.  My basil cell carcinoma was almost free, including diagnosis, biopsy, and surgery.

It is (now) utterred wisdom that one should expect $250,000 in out of pocket medical costs in retirement.  I first read this when hsa were being 

I aggressively fund ours.  Triple tax free

Hmmm. I’d be fascinated to see the math on that. If only because I’m kind of in that space.

The HSA thing is odd because early on, it feels like using it at all is sort of wasteful. Like if something generated a tax free growth, why eat into that so quickly?
