It's a full-service Italian restaurant, owned by a guy who came here from Puglia and still learning English.

The food is excellent.

Anto's Pizza Romana is an award-winning counter-service pizzeria and Italian market located at 1129 3rd Ave in Conway, South Carolina.

Conway pizzeria brings second world title home from Pizza World Cup In Rome

A Conway pizzeria is bringing home another world title after taking first place in the Pizza alla Palla category at the Pizza World Cup in Rome.

Anto’s Pizza Romana announced the win on Facebook, marking another victory for the restaurant on the international stage.

The restaurant said the first-place finish came after several setbacks over the weekend.

“After all the set backs this weekend it felt great to be able to come out with a first place finish today . Thank you for the support” Anto’s wrote in a post on Facebook.
The win comes just days after Anto’s thanked the Conway community for its support before the restaurant left for Italy.

Anto’s said it broke its single-day sales record on its final day before the trip. The restaurant said some people stopped by without ordering food just to wish the team good luck and safe travels.

“Really excited to represent Conway on the world stage again . Thank you for everything and we’ll see you guys in a couple weeks” Anto’s wrote on Facebook.

The victory adds to Anto’s previous success at the Pizza World Cup.

The Conway pizzeria previously traveled to Italy to compete at the Pizza World Cup, where owner Anthony Ludovici-DeBrigida represented the restaurant.

Ahead of that competition, Ludovici-DeBrigida told ABC 15 that Anto’s would compete in the Focaccia and Romana categories, with Roman-style pizza being a specialty of the restaurant.

Now, Anto’s is returning from Rome with another first-place finish, this time in the Pizza alla Palla category.

Anto's is located on 3rd Avenue in Conway.

Just spent last weekend in Kansas City with my globe hopping middle kid.  She's paying $2200 a month for a 2 bedroom Air B&B at 33rd street and SW Trafficway.  From Zillow, the neighbor to the South was built in 1912, North 1910.  So I'm guessing they were working their way South from city center and hers was a 1911 model.

Wonder how the values tanked once they turned her front street into a 6-lane LOUD throughway.  Sad, because the homes themselves are pretty darn cool.

Fearless is probably the only guy here that would ever venture there, but, anyway:

Got to go to the famous Q39 barbecue joint.  The sides were great--I had baked beans and fire roasted street corn--but I'm here to say I like brisket cooked on my Traeger in the backyard better.  My burnt-ends/slices plate was $28, with 2 sides.  The pork belly appetizer was great, but it was small for 4 people to share.

Another night we went to an Italian place, Cupini's.  Strange to stand in line like you're at fast food, but the food was very good.  Had to break the rule and cut some of the wide noodles (forgot the name, not on the website menu), getting one whole one on the fork was more than a mouthful. Did the carbonara and meatballs. Had a pitcher of sangria, 4 meals and a whole baguette, and a couple pieces of carrot cake to share, with tip was only $107.

In between was Taco Bell after the Pitbull/Lil John concert at the fantabulous new Morton Amphitheater, which holds 16,000 capacity.  Also hit the Renaissance Festival.  Not my thing, but man, the freaks come out of the woodwork, so there is some interest in that way.  Not very many Hottie Thread worthy views, even though a lot of chests were on very prominent display.
