Might be the best steakhouse I've ever visited.

Free "Champagne" to start, and free dessert (Key lime pie, which I really like).  I had a glass of their "House" pinot noir which was quite respectable, and then Irish coffee.

I had their steak frite and a side of Brussels, which was a large portion indeed.  We couldn't eat more than half of it, my wife had snapper.

I topped it off at home with some Kahlua, probably too much of it.  It's a bit of a drive for us obviously and we usually don't drive to dine out unless the place is special.

I did, wasn't feeling any inebriation at all.  I did this morning though after the Kahlua.

It wasn't real Champagne anyway.

It was good whatever it was.  The whole experience was first rate.  We went to "Bones" a few years back and were broadly unimpressed, it's a place to "see and be seen", the food is fine, but not worth the $$$ to me.

I rarely go to steakhouses because steak is too easy to fix at home, for me, if I want one.  Anyway, Mac's was quite good overall.

It had some kind of yellow sauce on it and whipped cream on the side, so no, it wasn't very acidic.  It's not on their on line menu.

I was stuffed anyway.

I noted for my wife who was paying they offer Louis Tres, and she told me to get it if I wanted.  I didn't, one ounce would cost more than our entire meal.  A lot more.

They also offer Macallan 25, which is not as pricey, but still pricey, I didn't get that either, had it once before, never had Louis Tres.

Marietta is an interesting suburb, used to be a city in its own right before ATL metro swallowed it, the square was busy last night, as was the restaurant.  There is a lot of money up that way.

I remember Cook's Illustrated had a great Key Lime Pie recipe, but they said using real key limes was a huge pain the ass for no benefit.
