My wife loves steak and tuna tartare.  I'll eat it, a bit, but it's just not something I aspire to order.  I eat sushi/sashimi fairly often.

I like the results of the Maillard Reaction too much I guess.

The steak I had Friday night was really seared and med rare in the middle.  That was nice.

My wife has been on a near liquid diet for two weeks now following some kind of gum deal at her dentist's.  So, I'm checking out possibilities for a nice dinner for her here somewhere.  She likes the Fogo place a lot, I have ordered their fish at times which has been decent, trying "all you can eat" steak is not really my go to.  They offer the sea bass as an option and it's pretty solid.

I'm looking at La Grotta but 8:45 is the earlier time available for dinner for weeks.  That place gets almost no "publicity" and is always packed, and for a reason.

So, this place is run by a friend of ours, we were there for the soft opening for brunch, I keep trying to get back for dinner.

Cuevacia - Atlanta, GA

So, next Wednesday at 7 works.  Easy walking distance.

Authentic Oaxacan cuisine meets bold northern Mexican influences - paired with craft cocktails, a curated library of mezcals, Spanish wines, and Mexican beers. With an intimate, cave-like ambiance, Cuevacía invites you to linger, connect, and be nourished - in body, in spirit, and in celebration of a life well lived. A sacred place of gathering - a symbol of rebirth, service, and love.

There is quite of bit of authentic on that menu, including having Mezcal cocktails available.

Reminds me of this place in Chicago.

Do you think some kinds of hard liquors can "sneak up on you" if they are all around 80 proof?  I know folks claim liquor "X" makes them sick, or gets them drunk too fast, whatever, but I'm not sure that's more than psychosomatic unless they like it and drink more than they think.  It's all distilled alcohol, often 3-4-5x.  The cheaper stuff of course can contain "cogeners"  that can be ... bad.

FF, have you eaten at Gaga & Hoo in Dirty Dodge? The bibimbap was surprisingly good; the old fashioneds, passable.

no sir.  I've been to the country club but not tried Gaga.
I'll make an effort to try some korean there

I usually land at the Community Tap when in Dirty Dodge.  Great wings & pizza.  and the tap is a dirty place like the town.
