John Lewis is great, totally legit pitmaster.  I haven't been to his restaurant in SC but I've heard excellent things about it from folks I know who have been, including my brother who travels there fairly regularly for business.  I have had his stuff here in Austin and it's really great.

Conveniently for CD, there's one in Atlanta that was announced to be opening 2 days ago, and I believe it is near his residence.  I believe this is why he posted the link.

Have you tried it yet?

Yeah I don't read any of that stuff.  Until now I guess.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since he skipped town.

Looks like he meant update the spiel.  Fair enough.

I’m in Hawaii.   Will try Lewis when we get home the 22nd. It’s walkable for us.  Exciting.

It may be packed. Fox Bros had been our favorite but it’s not walkable.  Maybe four miles in traffic.

Had my first experience with Raising Cane's today b/c I needed to pick up gift cards as stocking stuffers for the kids...

I was... unimpressed.

The crinkle cut fries were pretty solid, I'll give them that. But the raison d'etre, the chicken fingers, were just... Meh. They were moist, I'll give them that, but the breading was thin, not crispy, oily, and reminiscent of bad fish sticks. And the vaunted "Cane sauce"? Nothing special.

I succeeded in my mission of getting gift cards, but I don't expect to find myself going back again to Raising Cane's to eat any time soon... Or ever.
