McCook also has a nice brewery with very good food and good beer

I usually stay at the Holiday Inn.
I've played golf in Benkelman, Curtis, and McCook

We are a Taphouse and Eatery in McCook, Nebraska

McCook, Nebraska’s go-to destination for good times, great food, and the best local craft beer. Born out of passion and a love for this community, The Station is the reimagined version of what was once The Loop Brewing Company—a cherished local hangout…

Took the wife out to lunch today, to get out of the house  bit.

Welcome to AMIMOTO JAPANESE RESTAURANT | Punta Gorda 33950

This place is really good. So fresh.

We both had the sushi and tataki tuna.

I'd still give them a try cause......... they're supposedly braised beef ribs

and even if they're not, there's gravy!

Not all of it is sushi grade. Some is, some isn't.

I've been on coastal FL a fair bit and find it difficult to get fresh fish in restaurants.  Most seem to buy flash frozen.  I think I can tell the difference.

Captain D's for example I'm pretty sure uses frozen.:)

You need to know where to go. Ask an expert next time you go.

Yup.  We have dined at several places near North Port that were solid, but I didn't think the fish was really fresh.

Maybe I have forgotten what that tastes like.

Dockside Waterfront Grill
in Venice.  Was solid.

Tarpon Point near North Port
More casual, not bad, not fresh.

Dockside Grill in Punta Gorda

Sharky's on the Pier

South Venice, we have an event there each year.  It's solid.  Nothing special except location.

Some place on St. Armands I can't find now.

Crab and Fin is the best bet there, bar none.

Dockside in Venice is good. They have a fresh catch of the day but everything else is frozen. The grouper, oysters and shrimp are always fresh.

Never been to Tarpon Point.

Go here instead: Anna Maria Oyster Bar – Bradenton, FL Restaurant | Seafood & More

There is no more Dockside Grill in Punta Gorda. It is now Spinnakers and it's good. They have a fresh catch of the day, but everything else is not fresh. We just went to a wine dinner there a few weeks ago. I like their burgers...

This place is great. We go by boat quite a bit.

Everything on the menu can't be right off the boat, unless you get it that way and cook it at home.

But certain, consistent things can be fresh at individual locations.
