I've always been on your side. When we go out to breakfast, I order a burger.

Believe it or not, Texas Roadhouse is a place to get a really good steak at a really good price.
Good to know, I get them confused with their competitor.  Outback.  We had lunch a while back at one of'em, they had a burger special for $12 or so that was OK.  I looked it up, it was Longhorn.  I get them confused.  Steak for me is too easy to fix at home to order out very often.

I had a dry aged steak once, it wasn't my preferred flavor profile.

The Boqueria place, I meant to note we'd probably go back some time, I'd give them a B.  It was pretty fun getting all those dishes showing up, too many of course, but we learned some things we liked a lot we could order separately next time.

We're going to Ecco for our Anniversary tomorrow, it's my wife's second favorite place, or third maybe.

Menu | Midtown - Ecco

NY Strip for $81, ouce.  Her favorite place is always books a month or more ahead of time.

La Grotta Ristorante Italiano

And I still haven't tried this place which gets a lot of "news" for being special, also have to reserve well ahead of time.

Logans Roadhouse here has good steaks, great chicken sandwichs, very good food and service over all.

Best steak around here is at a restaurant that is in refurbished home in a neighborhood, the next best is in a pub.

You're finally on my side when it comes to eggs.
There's no "side".

You don't like eggs. We get it. Nobody begrudges you for not liking eggs. Badge doesn't like caviar. I don't like coconut--I find the smell, taste, and texture all very offputting.

We give you grief because of how deeply held your anti-egg crusade goes. You speak of the egg lobby like conspiracy theorists speak of the Illuminati.

It's just... Weird.

It would be weird to eat what you dislike.  Others dislike things some of us like, and so forth.  I mentioned a few items I can tolerate, but my wife really likes a lot, so I let her have all of it save maybe a bite, caviar, foie gras, ... she doesn't like popcorn, even the smell of it, which I find ridiculous, but means more for me.

We had a French fellow who visits pretty often over for dinner and I mistakenly made corn as one dish, it was good stuff, but he refused it, which I know is common for the French except my wife.  I find it odd not to like good corn, but more for me.

When I was a kid I couldn't stand cheese, probably because what my Dad would buy was crappy cheese.  But I digress.....

People were eating eggs for breakfast long before there was any Egg Lobby.

When did ground beef become a "thing"?  When hamburgers were popularized?

My wife calls it "shredded beef".

Who Invented the Hamburger? History Doesn't Really Know
Who Invented the Hamburger? History Doesn't Really Know

The term "hamburger" derives from the name of the city of Hamburg in Germany, known for exporting high-quality beef. It first showed up in print in 1834 in America on the menu at New York's Delmonico Restaurant, where the chopped and formed "Hamburg steak" was a prominent item.

In the late 19th century, Dr. James Henry Salisbury used chopped beef patties to cure Civil War soldiers suffering from camp diarrhea. Dr. Salisbury advocated eating cooked beef three times a day for a healthy constitution. The term "Salisbury steak" appeared in print in 1897 and the seasoned and broiled patty is considered a forerunner of the modern hamburger.

I'm just having fun with it like others do, messing with me.
I find it weird that people act like any big-monied interest group doesn't do everything in its power to remain relevant.
That's what it's about.  It has nothing to do with how I dislike or like eggs.

And the larger point is that the idea of 'breakfast food' is an odd suggestion.  A burger or spaghetti in the early AM is no different than in the PM.  Bacon is good, 24/7.  So is orange juice or scrambled eggs.

We invent these unnecessary walls between things.  I'm simply saying if there's no good reason for it, then why have those walls?  "Breakfast food" isn't a load-bearing wall.  So let's knock it out.

I respect traditions that are based on something.  As none of us are day laborers needing 4,000 calories a day, we can move on from it.

For all of the cabbage-pickers on the board, please ignore my posts on the matter.  All of you doing roofing work in Phoenix all summer, same goes for you.
