We enjoyed dinner, in part because my wife talked at length with a lady who was singing with an acoustic guitar so it wasn't too loud. The place was rather chilly. My dinner was quite good, I had some chicken and noodle thing. My wife had duck which she said was pretty solid and haricot vert, which I understand is green beans, which she said were good, and sweet potato puree which she said was too sweet. I've never seen sweet potatoes in France.
The singer lady said they had a long time server who has cancer and they are doing a benefit for her tomorrow (today), and it turned out she was at the bar, which was packed. So we stopped by and gave her our regards, she was in good spirits. I left a donation with the manager. The wine prices I saw on line were apparently old ones, way out of date, no bargains to be had on that list. I ordered a mediocre Rhone for her duck. They did have Hennessey VSOP for $12 which is pretty solid.
The place has white table cloths, which is one homage to being "French". They have outdoor dining which looked nice, but it was 93°F when we arrived. My wife said she'd go back, which is high praise from her. Was it "French"? Pretty much what one finds in the US outside some ultra posh place, but we only had the two dinner items.
