Yeah... Yelp reviews can be ridiculous. But if you really spend the time to read them, you can separate the wheat from the chaff and figure out which reviewers are telling you something useful.

So you shouldn't look at, say, a 4.1 vs 4.3 rating and make a decision based on that. If you really want to make a good decision, you need to go deeper.

What's the best food truck that each poster has encountered over the past, oh... six months?

The new episode is title "Just Like Mom," according to the Food Network. Con Huevos is expected to show off its quesadilla deshebrada de res and a veggie taco, the episode description says.

Chef Hugo Garcia opened Con Huevos opened on San Antonio's Eastside in 2019, and since then, the restaurant has garnered support from local diners for its unique specialty tacos, which are each given feminine names like Carmen, Irma or Vicki. Previously, the taqueria had been featured on Netflix's Taco Chronicles series.

To watch the upcoming episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featuring Con Huevos, tune into Food Network at 8 p.m. CST on Friday, December 13.

Find it: 1629 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78202

I'm hoping to find some good Mexican in San Diego end of this month, or maybe even in Palm Springs.  I should look up places in the latter to see if anything looks promising.

Had to be about 8yrs back watching Triple D did a segment on some small diner one of those deep, long, narrow ones centered amongst a few storefronts in the Twin Cities. Guy made his own home made Sausages from recipes brought over. Any way one day he had enough after like 25-30 yrs and was going to close the place and retire. But one patron was so fond of the joint he thought he'd give it a go and bought it. After a little bit of coaching/learning side by side with the owner. Any way the place kept staying busy and end up getting one of those JB awards, Crazy - in my best Christopher Walken voice.

Tons of food trucks all over the place down here.  Some of the very best tacos on the planet are served from them.  There's also lots of cool fusion food like Korean/TexMex and VietCajun.

Last time out there, I found one we liked a lot in Carlsbad, and another one that was ... mediocre, same general area.

How hard can it be?
