When I was in high school Olive Garden and Chili's were some very nice options to impress a date.

And TGI Friday's was super-fancy and you were guaranteed to get some action if you took your date there.
as opposed to Big Hank's all you can eat BBQ Buffet?

Kinda funny, to me, I like the Thai food around here better than the Thai food in Thailand, though we only had two lunches there.

I also like the bi bim bop here better than what we had in Seoul, I'm sure a lot of this is because I'm accustomed to "here".

The BBQ here is better than what I had in Austin, but again, I think I only had it in Austin at one or two places.  (Also, the best BBQ here is made by a couple brothers from Texas, so there is that ...).

There is one Q place I liked a lot but my wife did not where the owner is Korean and the pitmaster is from Texas.  Kimchi and pulled pork .... authentic?  Probably not.  Interesting and good?  It was to me.

Heirloom Market BBQ - Bbq, Catering

Heirloom  Market is the smallest of places with the biggest of hearts. This chef  driven restaurant was designed with the idea of paying respect to iconic  BBQ food ways with the touch of our personal flavor. Chefs Cody and  Jiyeon decided to create Heirloom Market with one basic thought "What  can we enjoy doing for the next 10 years". We decided to cook to our  strengths. Simple, Classic, and Fresh are three adjectives that should  never be lost when providing such a polarizing cuisine as BBQ. Jiyeon, a  South Korean ex-pat, grew up with the flavors of grilled meats, pickled  vegetables, and a constant array of side dishes. Her culinary training  and travels in the states has led to a deep rooted love for "Seoul" food  or classic Southern cuisine. Cody (a Texas born, Tennessee raised,  Atlanta trained Chef) has spent countless hours cooking, eating, and  appreciating everything BBQ. Together they have created a place that  provides the best of "the things we eat on our days off."

It's like Pizzas here sure they're not authentic but they're a damn bit tastier - imho. Lot's of stuff is American food was ammended - years ago. Just last night got together with old buds and two of them had visited Ireland/England seperately and both said that Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips here were much better than anything on that side of the pond. I think the descriptions they used were "sucked". Not like either of those places are culinary destinations. But supposedly there has been a renaissance in that department in recent years

They had venison, duck, lobster, oysters, sweet potatoes (not white) and some veggies. Probably cranberries.

No green bean casserole.

Yes migrating ducks and geese were much easier to shoot in massive numbers than agile woodland turkeys

1566 W Ogden Ave, Naperville, IL

https://gematoswoodpitbbq.com/worth-worth-gematos-wood-pit-bbq-worth-food-menu-naperville

There used to be a really good Italian joint at this location.

I used to go from work when I needed an oil change at the Benz dealer across the street.
