I'd go with the 1/2 Lb of chop, 1/2 Lb ribs, coleslaw and fries.

And I'd split with Mrs. 847.

I'm leery of BBQ joints that don't do beef ribs.
I understand why, just don't like it and think perhaps they're just not committed

Even here in Texico not every joint does beef ribs, probably half or even fewer.  Some that do, only do it as a Saturday special.

They're just so expensive for a restaurant to buy, take up a ton of room on the pit, don't yield all that well, and the sticker shock for customers when they realize that "just one rib" is going to cost $40-$50, make it a specialty item, not an every day thing.

Beef cheeks on the other hand are a much better deal, not sure why more places don't do those.

Gotta have fried okra.  A place without that isn’t real Q, to me.

Lewis does them on Saturdays only, based on their site.

I'd ask about them and plan to visit on those "special" days when they offer a beef rib

Gotta have fried okra.  A place without that isn’t real Q, to me.

Fried okra isn't a very common BBQ side at Texas-style joints.  It's very common at diners or southern-cooking or home-cooking places, but the most common BBQ sides at Texas joints are pinto beans, cole slaw, potato salad, homestyle mac and cheese, and then some corn casserole types of things.

The collards at Lewis's place are more a nod to the tradition of the south, rather than a Texas bbq thing.

Fried okra is my favorite veggie.   I often judge a place by how good it is.

Even Indian places here have it but they call it bhindi.

I love fried okra as well.  It's just not a Texas BBQ thing.  If you're going to a Texas-style BBQ joint, you're most likely not going to find it.

I don't like. Give me fried potatoes. I'm a Midwest boy.

Fox Bros has it, and it’s good.  Maybe Lewis will add it.

It’s a staple around here.

I like pretty much anything fried.

Except pickles of course, because pickles are disgusting.

Fried cardboard is not very good.  Just about anything else though ….
