Resident Genius Week 1: Trying Out the New Digs
« on: August 28, 2017, 07:37:47 PM »
Welcome to the 11th (ELEVEN?! Where did the time go? RIP LittleBigMatt) season of the Resident Genius contest.

For those of you who have not played this before, it goes as follows:

-There are many measurables that are measured over the course of a football game. Each week, I will ask you to predict one of them. It could be anything and everything (rushing yards, penalties, time of possession, number of punts/kicks, returns, etc.).

-Scoring is as follows:

-Entries are sorted in order of distance from the correct answer.
-This is like golf, you want to be the low guess.
-The outright winner of each week will get a score of -5 points.
-Entries will be given the score that corresponds with their placing, i.e. 4th place gets 4 points, 5th gets 5 points, etc.
-Ties will share the score of the lowest person involved in the tie. The next person then is scored at the next complete rank behind them. i.e. if three people tie for 4th, all of them get a score of 4. The next person will be scored with 7.
-If there is a tie for 1st, all involved in the tie get 1 point.
-I am the arbiter of all disputes. All decisions are final.

New digs for our forum. This is going to be a learning process for all of us, especially when it comes to me posting the results chart.

We start the 2017 campaign in the same place where the regular season ends, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Purdue Boilermakers take on a team that some suspect could be a sleeper to get into the tournament, the Louisville Cardinals. The Cards are a big favorite here. I'm not going to start off easy on you this year.

Q: How many total yards of PUNT RETURNS will the Louisville Cardinals have vs. Purdue?

Deadline for your pick is Saturday, September 2 at 6 PM CDT. Good hunting.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I am not sure you realize what you heard is not what I meant.  Anonymous
