RB

That's Peterson. Not bad.

Jonathan Taylor blows this garbage out of the water.

339 carries his FR year, for a 5.7 avg.
AD (not AP) is a good example of what I always harp on about rating players.
Peterson was a MAN at 18/19 years old.  He could have gone straight to the NFL physically.  He came in like gangbusters and ran all over everyone.  He had some injuries.  All of it.  We know, we all saw.

But his stats, while really good, aren't super amazing.  His ability and physical gifts were special, but what he actually DID was merely great, not all-time special.
Conversely, Taylor seems pretty ho-hum compared to Peterson.  But he DID a lot more.  More everything, better per attempt, all of it.

Yet almost no one would rank Taylor over Peterson, outside of Madison.  I don't get it.  It's weird.

We need to be accepting of others, guys.  Klatt was going for a modern offensive set, which is accurate.
Are there any guys you'd switch out?

I didn't even know who the Stanford guard was, never heard of him.  So that's fun.

JT23 is the best CFB running back I've ever seen.

Look what happened to Wisconsin since he left after the 2019 season.

The kid covered up a lot of warts. I knew it then, and everyone knows it now.

My favorite UGA RB is Nick Chubb.  They had some good ones.  I think he was best.   Does he belong on some all time list?  No.  Charlie Trippi was pretty good too.

Some dude with the last name of Walker played RB at UGA.  He was pretty good.

more volume, lower ypc

There's an argument Jonathan Taylor was the best college RB of all time.
Now I say that, but it took his performance 30+ years after Herschel Walker to be surpassed in a 3-year career.  So there's that.

If you took a thousand college football fans to rank their top 10 RBs of all-time, only a handful would have Taylor on their list.
Taylor didn't have a peak, nor did Dayne.  But Dayne gets points for being the all-time leading rusher for a year.

People value peak A LOT.

Dayne held onto the all-time rusher spot for 17 years, from 1999 to 2016.

It was Ricky Williams who only had it for 1 year, 1998, when he broke Tony Dorsett's record from 1976.  And then Dayne broke Ricky's record the next year.

The best single season I ever saw was pretty obvious to me, not career.

If they counted bowl games back then, Dayne would still be the leader.
